Project Description
In the aftermath of the disastrous event of September 11, 2001, Cortlandt Street Subway Station became buried under debris. After years of abstaining use of the station, the MTA took action to restructure it. The reconstruction of the station included architectural finishes, new turnstiles, escalators, elevators, two ventilation plants, and two platforms. Five Star’s role was the replacement of the following systems: Electrical distribution, lighting, heat trace, signaling, traction power, telephone, data communication, security, CCTV, fire alarm, public address, police and radio antennae, network, instrumentation and control work for HVAC, ventilation, plumping equipment, automatic fare collection equipment, and system-wide wireless.
