New Project Announcement - Borough-Based Jail Brooklyn Facility

Five Star Electric Corp., as a subcontractor to Tutor Perini Corporation, has been awarded the Borough-Based Jail Brooklyn Facility Project contract for the NYC Department of Design and Construction.

The Brooklyn Borough-Based Jail Facility is a design-build project located at the site of the current Brooklyn Detention Center at 275 Atlantic Avenue. The new, state of the art facility will have dedicated space for on-site services and programming, indoor and outdoor recreation, food services, staff offices and facilities, amenities, below grade accessory parking for 100 City vehicles, and a secured entry (sally port). The facility will contain 1,040 beds for people in custody. In addition, the facility will provide 30,000 sq. ft. of community space on the ground floor.

Five Star Electric’s work encompasses a full electrical and systems scope including but not limited to switchgear, power distribution, backup power, security, fire alarm, communication systems, convenience power, lighting and lighting controls.
